Trump Responds to Pelosi & Schumer’s Obstruction With Bold Move to Secure the Border

President Trump has been trying in vain to get Democrats to end the government shutdown that is now into its 13th day.

Trump even voluntarily missed the Christmas holiday with his family in Florida by staying in Washington DC in order to try and make a deal with obstructionist Democrats.

Today, Trump met with Democrats Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer to try and hammer out a deal to get the government back up and running and get the border wall funded.

Pelosi and Schumer likely thought they would emerge from the meeting with the go-ahead to end the shutdown but they were sorely mistaken when Trump did something incredible.

President Trump told the two Democrats that he would keep the government closed “for a very long period of time, months or even years” if they refused to fund his important border wall.

Why do these people always underestimate the lengths President Trump will go in order to keep his promises to the American people who elected him?

Even after this meeting, Democrats continue to try and sneak bills through to subvert the shutdown, Trump dropped the hammer by letting them know he could just declare a national emergency and immediately fund the wall that way – so they better start negotiating with him or it is going to look really bad on them come election time.

“We can call a national emergency because of the security … I haven’t done it. I may do it but we can call a national emergency and build it very quickly,” Trump told reporters during a briefing in the White House garden.
