Tuesday’s meeting where President Trump met with House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi and Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer in the Oval Office has become a major point of discussion over the past week.
During the heated meeting both Pelosi and Schumer made it clear that they would not fund President Trump’s border wall and did not care if that meant they would shut down the government as a result. After the meeting, Pelosi went so low as to publicly ridicule President Trump saying, “It’s like a manhood thing for him. As if manhood could ever be associated with him. This wall thing.”
On Saturday, former Press Secretary Sean Spicer spoke with CNBC at the Doha Forum in Qatar. Spicer discussed why he thought having Nancy Pelosi as speaker of the house is actually a good thing for the Republican Party.
“Politically, this does benefit the president. Obviously, as a Republican, I was sad to lose the House, but the reality is that this gives us something to run against.”
The reality is that the country despises Nancy Pelosi – so Republicans can use this to their advantage during the campaigning process. Republicans run against Pelosi to get the votes needed to win. Spicer wanted to see Congress use Speaker Pelosi as a pawn to get more Republicans in power.
“I think Nancy Pelosi is going show the American people what it’s all about, which is investigation after investigation and a lot more big government that won’t go anywhere.”
This is brilliant. Spicer knows how bad Pelosi is for our country, and since she is a staunch Democrat, she will continue to represent the Democratic party and continue to turn people away from it.
“This really juxtaposes that idea of the binary choice that exists within elections. If you want the agenda that delivered 3-plus percent economic growth quarter after quarter, lower unemployment, the take down of the regulatory state, then you need to vote Republican and for the president’s policies to continue,” Spicer told the press.
