Former First Lady Laura Bush sent a very sweet and touching message to our current First Lady Melania Trump, thanking her for her hospitality during the George H.W. Bush’s funeral.
USA Today reported that the Trumps invited the former FLOTUS and a host of Bush children and grandchildren to see the much-mocked Christmas decorations at the White House on Tuesday morning, but the visit was private and no photographers or reporters were present, said Trump’s spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham.
But later, Laura Bush posted pictures on Instagram of a crowd of Bushes gathered round under the White House portrait of the 41st president, which was draped in black cloth.

A day before former President George H.W. Bush was laid to rest, former First Lady Laura Bush and Bush family members were hosted by First Lady Melania Trump at the White House, touring the much-discussed Christmas decor. Mrs. Bush was quick to thank Mrs. Trump for the “sweet visit during this somber week.”
“Thanks to Mrs. Trump for inviting our family to the White House to see the Christmas decorations and our old friends, the residence staff,” wrote the former First Lady, posting two photos from the visit.
One of the photos featured a gathering of Bushes in front of a White House portrait, draped in black cloth, of the late George H.W. Bush.
