During an explosive meeting Tuesday with House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi and Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer, President Trump refused to be bullied by the pair despite their best efforts. This fiery meeting has been the topic of many news articles this week and Democrats continue to obstruct the President’s border security efforts.
Both Pelosi and Schumer refuse to approve the necessary $5 billion that President Trump is asking for in order to fund his border wall. President Trump has also shown the country how this money will ultimately come from the new USMCA deal. Thankfully, Trump refuses to be bossed around by Democrats.
“If we don’t have border security, we will shut down the government. This country needs border security. The wall is a part of border security. … We are going to get the wall built and we’ve done a lot of wall already.”
On Thursday the head of the US Border Patrol, Carla Provost, praised President Trump for his efforts and reinforces the country’s desperate need for a border wall.
“We certainly do need a wall. Talk to any border agent and they will tell you that,” she told the hosts of Your World.
“I can tell you, the President has been extremely supportive and he has been listening to my men and women on the ground, and has listened to myself as we have described what we need to be able to secure this border.”
This is why we elected President Trump in 2016. Americans showed up to their polling places and told Congress that we want border security and we want a wall.
